Investigation of The Effects of SiC, MgCO3 and Li2CO3 Additions on Ceramic Foams

Abstract

Ceramic foam materials are widely used today for both filter and insulation purposes. This study aimed to examine the effects of SiC, MgCO3, and Li2CO3 additions on the properties of ceramic-based foams. In this direction, compositions with different additive ratios were prepared. Microstructure and phase analyses such as SEM and XRD of the foam samples produced with these compositions were performed, and sintering analyses were performed using a non-contact optical dilatometer. Mass losses and phase transformation temperatures were determined by TG and DTA analysis. As a result of the study, it was seen that the technological properties of ceramic foams improved with the additives.

Abstract

Seramik köpük malzemeler günümüzde hem filt re hem de yalıtım amacıyla yaygın olarak kullanılmaktadır. Yapılan bu çalışmada SiC, MgCO3 ve Li2CO3 ilavelerinin seramik esaslı köpüklerin özellikleri üzerine etkilerinin incelenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Bu doğrultuda farklı katkı oranlarında kompozisyonlar hazırlanmıştır. Bu kompozisyonlar ile üretilen köpük numunelerinin SEM ve XRD gibi mikroyapı ve faz analizleri gerçekleştirilmiş ayrıca temassız optik dilatometre kullanarak sinterleme analizleri yapılmıştır. TG ve DTA analizleri ile de kütle kayıpları ve faz dönüşüm sıcaklıkları tespit edilmiştir. Yapılan çalışma sonucunda görülmüştür ki, katkılar beraber seramik köpüklerin teknolojik özelliklerinin geliştiği tespit edilmiştir.
