İçme Suyu Arıtma Çamuru Atığının Seramik Duvar Karosu Üretiminde Kullanım Potansiyeli

Abstract

Atık su arıtma tesislerinde üretilen arıtma çamurunun gün geçtikçe artması ve depolanması önemli bir çevresel sorundur. Günümüzde bu tür atıkların alternatif imha yöntemlerinin çevre dostu olmaması nedeni ile yararlı yeniden kullanım ve yeni alternatif geri dönüşüm stratejilerinin belirlenmesi önem arz etmektedir. Bu çalışmada, Adana Çatalan İçme Suyu Arıtma tesisinden temin edilen çamurun nihai bertarafına bir alternatif olarak duvar karo üretimi için kaplama seramik malzemesi imalatında püskürtülerek kurutulmuş atık çamurun kullanımı analiz edilmiştir. Yığın bileşimlerine ağırlıkça %5,10 ve 20 oranında içme suyu arıtma çamur atığı ilave edilmiş, laboratuar koşullarında kuru presleme ile şekillendirilerek bir dizi seramik karo formülasyonu hazırlanmıştır. Numuneler 1145 °C de 35 dakika süre ile endüstriyel koşullarda pişirilmiştir. Numunelerin pişme küçülmesi, su emme ve eğme dayanımları gibi teknolojik özelliklerinin yanı sıra mikroyapı analizleri de araştırılmıştır. Yapılan testler, içme suyu arıtma çamuru atığının, duvar karosu bünyesinde ikincil hammadde olarak % 5 oranında kullanılabileceğini göstermiştir.

Use Potential of Drinking Water Treatment Sludge Waste in Ceramic Wall Tile Production

Abstract

The increase and storage of sewage sludge produced in wastewater treatment plants is an important environmental problem. Since alternative disposal methods of such wastes are not environmentally friendly, it is important to determine useful reuse and new alternative recycling strategies.In this work, the production potential of industrial solid waste obtained from Adana Çatalan Drinking Water Treatment Plant in ceramic wall tile manufacturing was investigated. A series of ceramic tile formulations were prepared with 5, 10 and 20 wt% of drinking water treatment sludge waste incorporation into the batch compositions and shaping by dry pressing under laboratory conditions. Samples were fired at 1145 ° C for 35 minutes under the industrial conditions. In addition to the technological properties of the samples such as firing shrinkage, water absorption and bending strength, microstructure analyzes were also investigated. Tests have shown that drinking water treatment sludge waste can be used as a secondary raw material at a rate of 5% in wall tiles.
