Bio
Vildan IŞIK was born in Osmaniye in 1973. In 2000, she graduated from Dokuz Eylül University, Faculty of Fine Arts, Department of Painting. Her thesis was titled 'The Problematic of Chance and Coincidence in the 20th Century'. She also had a solo exhibition at Yapı Kredi Art and Culture Centre. The author graduated from the Department of Painting at the Institute of Social Sciences, Cumhuriyet University in 2006. Her thesis, entitled 'Art Debates in Turkish Painting between 1930-1970 and the Artist at the Centre of the Debates: Bedri Rahmi Eyüboğlu', focused on the role of the artist in these debates. In 2012, she conducted research on holography in Seoul, South Korea. She received her qualification from Gazi University Institute of Fine Arts in 2013 with a thesis titled 'Holography as a Medium of Artistic Expression'. The artist also curated an exhibition titled 'On the Relationship between Holography, Painting, and Photography'. Assoc. Prof. Dr. IŞIK has been working at Düzce University, Faculty of Art, Design and Architecture since 2016 after having worked in various institutions and organizations from 1999 to 2014.
