Ergenlerde Duygusal Özerkliğin Yordayıcısı Olarak Empati ve Pozitif Negatif Duygu

Abstract

Araştırma kapsamında ergenlik dönemi içerisinde bulunan bireylerde duygusal özerkliğin yordayıcısı olarak empati ve pozitif- negatif duygu durumlarının birbirini etkileyip etkilemediğinin incelenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Çalışmaya dâhil olan bireyler 2020-2021 eğitim öğretim döneminde İstanbul ilinde yaşamını devam ettiren ve farklı türde eğitim veren liselerde öğrenci olan 386 bireyden oluşmaktadır. Çalışmaya katılan bireylerin 195’i kız ve 191’i erkek öğrencilerdir. Bu çalışmada ilişkisel tarama modeli kullanılmıştır. Araştırmanın verileri “Duygusal Özerklik Ölçeği”, “Empatik Eğilim Ölçeği” ve “Pozitif- Negatif Duygu Ölçeği” ile toplanmıştır. Araştırma etik kurul onayı Yıldız Teknik Üniversitesi’nden alınmıştır. Çalışmada elde edilen verilerin değerlendirilmesi sonucunda, duygusal özerklik ile ilişkili olan en önemli değişken negatif duygudur (β = ; -0.28 t = -5,24; p <0.01). Ergenlerde negatif duygular arttıkça duygusal özerklik düzeyleri azalmaktadır. Duygusal özerklik ile ilişkili olan ikinci önemli değişken pozitif duygudur (β = 0.20; t = 3,60; p <0.01). Buna göre, araştırmaya katılan ergenlik döneminde yer alan bireylerde pozitif duygu puanları arttıkça duygusal özerklik düzeyleri de artmaktadır. Duygusal özerklik ile ergenlerin empati düzeyi arasında ise anlamlı ilişki bulunmamaktadır (β =-0.32; t =-0.59; p <0.05).

Empathy and Positive Negative Emotion as Predictors of Emotional Autonomy in Adolescents

Abstract

Within the scope of the research, it aims to examine whether empathy and positive and negative emotional states affect each other as predictors of emotional autonomy in individuals in adolescence. The individuals included in the study consist of 386 individuals who lived in Istanbul during the 2020-2021 academic period and are students in high schools that provide different types of education. Of the individuals participating in the study, 195 were female students and 191 were male students. Relational screening model was used in this study. The data of the study were collected with the "Emotional Autonomy Scale", "Empathic Tendency Scale" and "Positive-Negative Emotion Scale". Research ethics committee approval was received from Yıldız Technical University. As a result of evaluating the data obtained in the study, the most important variable associated with emotional autonomy is negative emotion (β =; -0.28 t = -5.24; p <0.01). As negative emotions increase in adolescents, their emotional autonomy levels decrease. The second significant variable associated with emotional autonomy was positive emotion (β = 0.20; t = 3.60; p < 0.01). Accordingly, as the positive emotion scores of the individuals participating in the research during adolescence increase, their emotional autonomy levels also increase. There is no significant relationship between emotional autonomy and adolescents' empathy level (β = -0.32; t = -0.59; p <0.05).
