Abstract
Neşet etmeye Aydınlanma döneminde başlayan ve post-modernlik olarak devam eden modernlik kaçınılmaz olarak bizleri de içine alarak küresel bir hal almıştır. Çağdaş İslam düşünürleri modernliğe dair yeni ufukların açılması adına iyi bir müktesebat oluşturmakla beraber bu konudaki tartışmalar gün geçtikçe daha farklı boyutlar kazanarak devam edegelmiştir. Modernlik meselesine özgün ve bütünlükçü bir bakış açısıyla yaklaşanlardan Faslı çağdaş düşünür Taha Abdurrahman’ın Modernlik Ruhu (Ruhu’l Hadase) adlı eseri literatürde önemli bir katkı sunmaktadır. Mantık, dil felsefesi ve ahlak üzerine çalışmalarıyla öne çıkan Taha Abdurrahman Modernlik Ruhu adlı eserinde modernliğin kendine ait ilkeleriyle soyut, şemsiye bir kavram olduğunu, Batı modernitesinin bu ruhun bir tatbiki olduğunu ve modernliği başka uygulamalarının da olabileceğini bizlere sunmaya çalışır. Taha Abdurrahman eserinde Batının modernlik tanımı için belirlediği akılcılık, öznelcilik ve özgürlük kavramları yerine yenilenme ruhunu temsil eden üç temel ilke olan olgunluk, kuşatıcılık ve eleştiri ilkelerini açıklar. Batı modernite tatbikinde görülen hatalara mukabil İslamî yenilenme modelinde bu hataların nasıl bertaraf edileceği üzerine özgün fikirlerini teferruatlı ve sistematik bir biçimde aktarır.

Abstract
Modernity, which started in the Enlightenment period and continued as post-modernity, has inevitably become global, including us. Although contemporary Islamic thinkers have created a good acquaintance in order to open new horizons on modernity, the debates on this issue have continued day by day by gaining more and more different dimensions. Among those who approach the issue of modernity from an original and holistic perspective, the Moroccan contemporary thinker Taha Abdurrahman's The Spirit of Modernity (Ruhu'l Hadase) is an important contribution to the literature. In The Spirit of Modernity, Taha Abdurrahman, who stands out with his works on logic, philosophy of language and ethics, tries to present us that modernity is an abstract, umbrella concept with its own principles, that Western modernity is an application of this spirit, and that there may be other applications of modernity. In his work, Taha Abdurrahman explains the three basic principles of maturity, encompassing and criticism, which represent the spirit of renewal, instead of the concepts of rationalism, subjectivism and freedom that the West has determined for the definition of modernity. He elaborates and systematically conveys his original ideas on how to eliminate these errors in the Islamic model of renewal as opposed to the errors seen in the practice of Western modernity.
