1177 Tarihli Süryanice “Harklean” Dörtlü İncil El Yazması

Abstract

Dublin Chester Beatty Kütüphanesi’nde Süryani koleksiyonunda Syc 703 numarada kayıtlı bulunan Harklean Dörtlü İncil el yazması makalenin konusunu oluşturmaktadır. El yazmasının şimdiye kadar detaylı monografik bir çalışmada incelenmediği ve yeteri kadar bilinmediği görülmüştür. Bu nedenle eser kodikolojik, paleografik ve sanat-tarihsel yönden incelenmiş, sahip olduğu özellikleri tanıtılmaya çalışılmıştır.
Chester Beatty Kütüphanesi’nin dijital erişime sunmasıyla ulaşılan eser; Eusebios mektubu, 8 kanonun 17 adet tablosu, dekoratif haç motifi, 11 adet litürjik kodeks tabloları, Dörtlü İncil, her dört İncil’in (Matta, Markos, Luka ve Yuhanna) bapları hakkında bilgi sunan “İçindekiler (Qephelaon) bölümü”, Harkelli Toma’nın kendi çalışması hakkında bilgi vermek için yazdığı sonsöz metninin kopyası, kolofon ve sonradan ilave edilmiş bazı bilgi notlarını içermektedir. Eserin Kolofonu ve bilgi notları okunmuş böylece detaylı bilgilere ulaşılmıştır. Görsellerle donatılmış kanon tablolu ve Harklean versiyonu olan bu Dörtlü İncil el yazması; Isho’bar Romanos ve aile bireyleri tarafından Tell Arsanius bölgesindeki Meryem Ana Kilisesi’nde 1177 yılında yazılmış ve banisi Rahip Ahrun tarafından 1180 yılında Madik Manastırı’ndaki Kırk Şehit Kilisesi’ne vakfedilmiştir.

Syriac “Harqlean” Four Gospels Manuscript Dated 1177

Abstract

The Harqlean Four Gospels manuscript, registered at Syc 703 in the Syriac collection at the Chester Beatty Library in Dublin, is the subject of the article. It has been observed that the manuscript has not been examined in a detailed monographic study so far and is not known enough. For this reason, the work has been examined in terms of codicological, paleographic, and art-historical aspects, and its features have been tried to be introduced.
The work reached by the Chester Beatty Library’s digital access includes Eusebios letter, 17 paintings of 8 canons, decorative cross motifs, 11 liturgical codex tables (tables of pericopes), the Four Gospels, the “Contents” section, which provides information about the chapters of the each of four Gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John), copy of the afterword which Tumo of Harqel wrote to give information about his work, colophon and some information notes added afterward. Colophon and the information notes of the work were read and detailed information was obtained. This Harqlean version of Four Gospels manuscript with canon tables was written in 1177 in the Virgin Mary Monastery in the region of Tell Arsanius by Isho’bar Romanos and his family members, and it was dedicated to the Church of the Forty Martyrs in the Madik Monastery by its endower, the Priest Ahrun, in 1180.
