Legends attract attention of people in terms of containing answers to questions about the formation stages of the universe and humanity, the hidden meanings of the events developing on earth and in the sky, and many extraordinary unexplained situations. The main purpose of this study is to reveal whether tourist guides benefit from legends while performing their profession. Other sub-goals are to determine whether the legends told contribute to the quality of the tour and how they affect the tourist’s thoughts about the tour. Depending on these reasons, interviews were held with professional tourist guides who told stories such as legends or stories to tourists and had the opportunity to directly observe the tourists. In the study, the phenomenology design, one of the qualitative research designs, was preferred. Snowball sampling was used as a basis to create the research sample. The sample of the research consists of 17 professional tourist guides actively working in the Cappadocia Region. The data was obtained with a semi-structured interview form. In the interview form; Demographic questions about tourist guides and open-ended questions about the guiding profession were asked. The answers to the questions were obtained through 35 minute interviews during the daily tour when the guide gave free time to the group. These obtained data were transferred to QDA miner software. The transferred texts were coded in three parts in accordance with the research purposes. The coding was determined to determine how the legends told during the tour affected the attractiveness of the tour, to determine the perceptions of the guides to determine how the legendary narratives affected the tourists in terms of the Cappadocia destination, and to determine from which sources the legends told by the guides were obtained. As a result of the coding, it was determined that legends are important in the tourist guiding profession, make the tour more interesting, positively affect the image and branding of the destination, and finally contribute to tourists’ unforgettable tourism experiences related to the tour.
