Sesli Betimleme Metinlerinin İki Dilde Karşılaştırmalı Analizi İçin Bir Model Önerisi ve Modele Dair Bir Uygulama

Öz

Görsel-İşitsel Çeviri kapsamında erişebilirlik için çeviri türlerinden biri olan sesli betimleme, kör ve görme engelli bireylerin görsel-işitsel tüketiminde erişimleri olmayan görsel düzgünün işitsel düzgüye dönüştürülerek bu ürünlere erişebilmelerini sağlayan göstergeler arası bir çeviri türüdür. Gelişen teknolojiyle günümüz insanının görsel-işitsel ürün tüketiminin daha önce hiç olmadığı kadar artmış olması toplumun dezavantajlı olarak görülen kesimlerinden kör ve görme engelli topluluk için görsel-işitsel ürünlerin erişilebilir kılınması ihtiyacını doğurmuş ve bu erişilebilirlik hizmetinin mümkün olan en iyi kalitede tüketicilere sunulması açısından sesli betimleme üzerine yapılacak bilimsel çalışmalara ihtiyaç artmıştır. Bu minvalde hazırlamış olduğumuz çalışmamızda sesli betimleme metinleri merkeze alınmış ve bir görsel-işitsel ürünün iki farklı dildeki karşılaştırmalı analizini bilimsel temellere dayanan, ölçeklenebilir, farklı bütüncelerle farklı dil çiftleri üzerinden sayısız kere tekrar edilebilecek bir metodoloji önerisi geliştirilmiştir. Bir uygulama örneğiyle pekiştirilerek tasarlanmış model önerisi, sesli betimleme metinlerinin kaynak metinle ilişkileri, betimleyicilerin sesli betimleme çeviri sürecindeki rolü, sesli betimleme metinlerinde bağdaşıklığın sağlanması ile metodolojinin anlatıbilimsel ve sinematik temelleri gibi konulara değinerek sağlam bir bilimsel zemine oturtulmuş ve 2000 yılında Thibault tarafından geliştirilmiş olan çok kipli transkripsiyon kuramından türetilmiştir. Bu metodolojinin geliştirilmesindeki en temek amaç, farklı kültürlerin sesli betimleme geleneklerini bir araya getirerek, bu gelenekler arasındaki farklılık ve benzerlikleri ortaya koyarak farklı sesli betimleme geleneklerini bir araya getirmek ve sesli betimlemede evrensel standartların oluşturulmasına katkı sağlamaktır.

Model Proposal for Bilingual Comparative Analysis of Audio Description Texts with an Example

Among various translation types within the scope of Audiovisual Translation, Audiodescription is applied for rendering the audiovisual world accessible. Audiodescripton represents a form of intersemiotic translation that allows individuals who are blind or visually impaired to access the otherwise inaccessible visual information within an audiovisual product, achieved through the conversion of visual elements into an auditory format. As technology has advanced, the consumption of audiovisual content within modern society has notably surged, underscoring the imperative to ensure accessibility of such content for marginalized communities, including the blind and visually impaired. To meet this need and ensure the highest quality of accessibility services, there has been an increased demand for scientific research focusing on audio description. In line with this context, our study places emphasis on audio description texts and proposes a methodological framework for comparative analysis of an audiovisual product in two different languages. This suggested technique is intended to be scientifically sound, scalable, and repeatable across several situations and language pairings. The model proposal, supported by an application example, establishes a robust scientific basis by examining the connection between audio description texts and source texts, the role of describers in the translation process of audio description, ensuring coherence in audio description texts, and the narrative and cinematic principles of the methodology. This methodology, based on Thibault's multimodal transcription theory from 2000, seeks to unite various audio description practices from different cultures. It emphasizes the distinctions and similarities among these practices and works towards creating universal standards in audio description by combining the worldwide traditions that have emerged.
