Performance appraisal is one of the basic tools in determining the current status of companies and determining the activities that can be done to achieve their goals. As a multidimensional process, performance appraisal can be carried out as an appraisal process for each of the business functions. A holistic performance evaluation covering all functions of the business is an important data source for the development of business processes and strategic planning. The multidimensional structure of performance evaluation and the fact that it contains a wide variety of objectives makes the problem a multi-criteria decision-making problem. TOPSIS and COPRAS methods, which are multi-criteria decision-making methods in which multiple and often conflicting objectives can be evaluated together, can be applied without the need for subjective data with ease of use and application. In this study, the performances of institutions in the banking sector are evaluated in two dimensions, equally weighted by TOPSIS and COPRAS method and weighted determined by CRITIC method. Although the evaluation of the financial performance of banks is one of the widely studied subjects, there are relatively limited studies on performance evaluation as a whole. In the performance evaluation of banks, a general performance evaluation is made by using structural and institutional parameters such as the number of branches and the number of employees, as well as financial ratios. In addition, the change in bank performance rankings during economic crisis periods was also evaluated in the study.
