Öz

Hızlı modanın sonuçlarından biri olarak kontrolsüz atık oluşumu;
doğal kaynaklar, insan sağlığı ve çevre için risk oluşturan bir noktaya
gelmiştir. Bu sonuçlara bağlı olarak yavaş moda akımı ve
sürdürülebilirlik kavramları gün geçtikçe önem kazanmaya
başlamıştır. Tekstil ve moda tasarımı alanında yavaş moda ve
sürdürülebilirlik kavramları açısından görünür onarım yöntemleri
kaynak tüketmeden giysi atıklarının yönetimi açısından önem arz
etmektedir. Görünür onarım yöntemleri ve sürdürülebilirlik
kazanımları bu çalışmada sekiz uygulamalı örnek ve teknik
açıklamalar ile irdelenmiştir. Bu tekniklerin uygulandığı giysiler
sökülme, yırtılma, aşınma, yanma vb. oluşan deformasyonlar
sonucunda değer kaybetmiş giysilerden oluşmaktadır. Giysiler uygun
görülen görünür onarım teknikleri uygulanarak yeniden
kullanılabilir hale getirilmeye çalışılmıştır. Görünür onarım
tekniklerinin kullanılması ile, giysi onarımının ötesine geçilerek ufak
bir dokunuş ile daha önce defo olarak görülen alan dikkat çekici bir
yüzey etkisi de kazanmaktadır. Bu yeni oluşan yüzey etkisi,
görünürlüğü ile dikkat çekecek, ürünün sahibi açısından bilinçli bir
yaklaşımın destekleyicisi olduğunu da hatırlatacaktır. Yapılan
uygulamalarda el işçiliği gerektiren tekniklerin kullanımı aracılığı ile
giysiye değer katılmaya ve giysinin kusurlu algısı değiştirilmeye
çalışılmaktadır. Bu konunun belirlenmesindeki en önemli etken;
yavaş moda hareketi dahilinde görünür onarım yöntemleri üzerine
kapsamlı bir bakış açısı oluşturabilmektir. Çalışmada ayrıca giysi
tasarımı, üretim süreçleri, kullanım ömrü gibi açılardan bu
tekniklere olan gelenekselleşmiş düşünceleri ve beklentileri
değiştirerek toplumsal bilinç oluşturabilmenin farklı yollarını
önerebilmek; sürdürülebilirlik için bu tekniklerin giysi tasarımındaki
önemini ve potansiyelini ortaya koymak amaçlanmaktadır.

Personalized Application Trials with Visible Mending on Garments

Öz

Uncontrolled waste creation as one of the consequences of fast
fashion has reached a point where it poses a risk to natural
resources, human health, and the environment. Depending on these
results, the concepts of slow fashion and sustainability have started
to become important day by day. In the field of textile and fashion
design, visible mending methods in terms of slow fashion and
sustainability are important for the management of clothing waste
without consuming resources. Visible mending methods and
sustainability outcomes are discussed in this study with eight
applied examples and technical explanations. The clothes on which
these techniques are applied can be ripped, torn, worn, burned, etc.
They are clothes that have lost value as a result of deformations. The
clothes were made into reusable products by applying the visible
mending techniques that were deemed appropriate. Beyond
mending the garment through visible mending techniques, a small
touch also creates a remarkable surface effect on the area that was
previously seen as a defect. This newly formed small surface effect
will draw attention with its visibility and will remind the owner of
the product that it supports a conscious approach. With the use of
handcrafted techniques, it attempts to add value to the garment and
to change the defective perception of the garment. The most
important factor in determining this issue; to create a
comprehensive perspective on visible mending methods within the
slow fashion movement. In addition, by suggesting different ways to
create social awareness by changing the traditional thoughts and
expectations towards these techniques in terms of clothing design,
production processes, and lifespan, and to reveal the importance and
potential of these techniques in garment design for sustainability.
