Abstract
In Turkish literature, there are many words that have changed meaning over the centuries and many concepts that have been given new meanings. Certain patterns identified with the word zahit and the type of people who act within the philosophy of life are also remarkable in terms of the reflection of this change. The ascetic, who was humble at the beginning, assimilated the climate of love in Islam, and approached living and inanimate beings within this climate, was subjected to criticism by ascribing new meanings, especially in the period of Divan literature. During this period, this extremely bigoted type of person, who fulfilled the orders of religion with a mechanical understanding and saw it only as a means to escape the torment of hell and reach the blessings in heaven, was criticized in many poems. The Sufi type, inspired by Sufi leaders such as Hoca Ahmet Yesevi, Yunus Emre, Hacı Bektaşi, was especially cherished in Divan poetry, his idea of performing worship only for the love of God, his vast tolerance; The desire to appeal to the hearts of all people, regardless of religion, language or race, has been highly appreciated and glorified. Halide Edip Adıvar, one of the liveliest figures of our recent literary history, in Sinekli Bakkal, one of her most published novels, compares the ascetic type attributed to the character of the neighborhood imam Hacı İlhami Efendi, the heroes of the work, and the sufi type represented by the Mevlevi sheikh Vehbi Dede in the background, in the development of the case. and opens a new door to reconciliation between East and West.
Abstract
Türk edebiyatında yüzyıllar içerisinde anlam kaymasına uğrayan birçok kelime, yeni manalar yüklenen birçok kavram bulunmaktadır. Zahit kelimesiyle özdeşleşen belirli kalıplar ve yaşam felsefesi dairesinde hareket eden insan tipi de bu değişimin yansıması bakımından dikkat çekicidir. Başlangıçta alçakgönüllü, İslâm’ın sevgi iklimini özümsemiş, canlı ve cansız varlıklara bu iklim içerisinde yaklaşan zahit, özellikle Divan edebiyatı devrinde yeni manalar yüklenerek eleştiriye tabi tutulmuştur. Bu dönemde dinin emirlerini mekanik bir anlayışla yerine getiren, sadece cehennem azabından kurtulmak ve cennetteki nimetlere ulaşmak için bir araç olarak gören, aşırı derecede mutaassıp bu insan tipi birçok şiirde âdeta yerden yere vurulmuştur. Hoca Ahmet Yesevi, Yunus Emre, Hacı Bektaşi gibi Tasavvuf önderlerinden ilham alan sufi tipi ise özellikle Divan şiirinde el üstünde tutulmuş, onun ibadetleri sadece Allah aşkıyla yerine getiren düşüncesi, engin hoşgörüsü; din, dil ve ırk ayrımı yapmadan tüm insanların gönlüne hitap etme arzusu oldukça beğenilmiş ve yüceltilmiştir. Son devir edebiyat tarihimizin en canlı simalarından olan Halide Edip Adıvar, baskısı en çok yapılan romanlarından Sinekli Bakkal’da eserin kahramanları mahalle imamı Hacı İlhami Efendi’nin şahsına yüklediği zahit tipi ile Mevlevi şeyhi Vehbi Dede’nin temsil ettiği sufi tipini arka planda karşılaştırarak vakanın gelişiminde ve Doğu ile Batı’nın uzlaşmasına yeni bir kapı açar.
