Undifferentiated Uterine Sarcoma with Endometrioid Adenocarcinoma of the Uterus: A Rare Collision Tumor

Abstract

Collision tumors consist of two histologically different tumors in the same organ independently of each other. Collision tumors of the esophagus, stomach, colon, lung, skin, thyroid gland, breast, uterus and ovary have been reported. Here, we report a case of a collision tumor of the uterine endometrioid adenocarcinoma and undifferentiated uterine sarcoma. Tumors with these features are not as aggressive as malignant mixed mullerian tumors (MMMTs) and it is important to distinguish them from MMMTs.

Uterusun Endometrioid Adenokarsinomu İle Andiferansiye Uterin Sarkomu Birlikteliği: Nadir Bir Kollizyon Tümörü

Abstract

Kollizyon tümörleri histolojik olarak farklı iki tümörün birbirinden bağımsız olarak aynı organda bir arada bulunmasıdır. Özofagus, mide, kolon, akciğer, deri, tiroid bezi, meme, uterus ve overde kollizyon tümörleri bildirilmiştir. Burada uterusta endometrioid adenokarsinom ve andiferansiye uterin sarkomdan oluşan bir kollizyon tümörü olgusu sunulmaktadır. Bu özelliklere sahip tümörler, malign mikst müllerian tümör (MMMT) kadar agresif seyretmemektedir ve MMMT’lerden kesin ayrımının yapılması önemlidir.
