“Kukla, Çalgı Aleti, Paytak, Sallanan At” Örneklendirmeleriyle Eğitici Ahşap Oyuncakların Okul Öncesi Çocuklarda Öz Düzenleme Becerisine Katkısı

Year 2025, Volume: 5 Issue: 2, 16 - 21, 30.12.2025

Abstract

Impact of Educational Wooden Toys to Self-Regulation Skills in Preschool Children with Examples of “Puppet, Musical Instruments, Wading, Rocking Horse”

Year 2025, Volume: 5 Issue: 2, 16 - 21, 30.12.2025

Abstract

Self-regulation skills, which help a person choose the most appropriate option by making evaluations according to the current situation when presenting his or her reaction to something, are essentially the ability to control emotions, thoughts, attitudes and behaviors as an indicator of cognitive and social-emotional developments and manifest themselves as a kind of self-control or emotional regulation. In this context, self-regulation skills, which contribute to the ability of preschool children aged 0-6 (0-72 months) to regulate their emotions, thoughts, attitudes and behaviors in an integrated manner, which includes the learning and discovery process carried out with toys, is an important competence in terms of socializing with self-confidence and acquiring a self-perception based on self-awareness. In this study, it was attempted to explain the contribution of educational wooden toys to the self-regulation skills of preschool children by exemplifying toys from the categories of "Puppet, Musical Instruments, Wading, Rocking Horse" within the wooden toy categorization.
