He was born in 1969 in Tavşanlı / Kütahya. He completed his primary and secondary education in Tavşanlı. In 1992, he graduated from Ankara University Faculty of Language and History Geography. In the same year, he started to work as a Research Assistant in the Department of History at Yüzüncü Yıl University. He prepared his master's thesis titledMuslim Christian Relations in Asr-ı Saadet (Van/1995) and his doctoral thesis titled The Birth and Development of Historical Geography (Ankara/2000). In 2003, he was appointed as Assist. Assoc. Prof. Dr. to YYU Faculty of Arts and Sciences, Department of History. In 2009, he started to work at Gaziantep University, Faculty of Arts and Sciences. In 2011, he received the title of Assoc. Prof. Dr. and in 2016, he received the title of Prof. Dr.. In January 2015, he started to work at Karabük University Faculty of Literature. He is still working at the same university.
