About

The Turkish Journal of Forensic Sciences and Crime Studies is a peer-reviewed scholarly journal published under the auspices of the Institute of Forensic Sciences at the Turkish National Police Academy, with the aim of fostering interdisciplinary academic production in the fields of forensic sciences and crime research. The journal seeks to contribute to the dissemination of theoretical, applied, and methodological knowledge produced in the field of forensic sciences to both the academic community and practitioners. In this respect, the journal goes beyond serving merely as a publication platform focused on specific sub-specializations; it provides a scholarly forum that enables the multidimensional examination of the understanding of crime as a phenomenon, the evaluation of forensic processes, the development of methods of evidence collection and analysis, and the relationships among the various components of the justice system.

The journal considers original studies situated at the intersection of forensic medicine, criminalistics, crime scene investigation, forensic genetics, forensic toxicology, forensic psychology, forensic anthropology, digital forensics, crime analysis, victimology, criminal justice, security studies, and other related disciplines. In particular, studies introducing new methods, analytical approaches, interdisciplinary perspectives, and research contributing to the field of practice are among the journal’s primary areas of interest.

As of 2026, the journal has adopted a continuous publication model and publishes original research articles, review articles, scholarly analyses, translations (provided that the necessary permissions have been obtained), critical editions, case evaluations, and book and symposium reviews prepared in accordance with national and international academic standards. The Turkish Journal of Forensic Sciences and Crime Studies aims to contribute to the development of the forensic sciences literature by publishing high-quality, original, and field-relevant studies in adherence to the principles of publication ethics.
