Abstract
Sinemada biçimci ve gerçekçi gelenek olmak üzere iki yaklaşım bulunmaktadır. Gerçekliği düzenleme ya da
yönlendirme konusunda ilk olarak yönetmenin gücüne güvenen kuramlar temelde biçimcidir. Bu kuramlar
gerçekliğin filme alınmasından çok yönetmenin ham malzemeyi işlemesiyle neler yapılabileceğini göz önünde
tutar. Andre Bazin, biçimsel geleneğe etkili bir şekilde kafa tutan ilk eleştirmendir. Bazin’in uzun çekim ve
kuramsal yaklaşımlarının etkileri halen sürmektedir. Çağdaş sinemada uzun çekim önemli bir anlatım
yöntemidir. Çağdaş sinemada filmin derdi nedir sorusu öyküye yönelikken, öykünün işlenişi söyleme yöneliktir.
Çağdaş sinemada uzun çekim, geleneksel kurguya alternatif olarak kullanılmaktadır. Andre Bazin, uzun çekimi
gerçekçilikle ilişkilendirmiştir. Bu çalışmada, çağdaş sinemada uzun çekimin kullanımı ve mizansenin etkileri
incelenmiştir. Araştırmanın kuramsal çerçevesini Bazin’in görüşleri oluşturmaktadır. Visitors,74 uzun plandan
oluşmuştur. Her bir planın süresi yaklaşık bir buçuk dakikadır. Godfrey Reggio’nun Visitors filmi mizansen
eleştirisi yöntemiyle analiz edilmiştir.

Abstract
Two approaches with the inclusion of formalist and realist tradition have been in cinema. Primarily depending on
the strength of the director orientation theories which are editing or directing reality are mainly formalist. These
theories consider reality of recording film regard to the director’s what can be done with processing raw
materials. Andre Bazin is effectively holding the head of the first critics to formal traditions. Bazin’s long shots
and some theoretical approaches’ effects last until today. Long shot is significant narrative method in modern
cinema. As the question of what is the film’s problem targets narrative in modern cinema, narrative process
targets to the story of film. The long shot is used as an alternative for tradition editing in cinema. Andre Bazin,
associated long shot with realism. In this study, using of long shot and effecting of mise-en-scene have been
examined. Bazin’s vision has generated the theoretical framework of this research. Visitors consisted of 74 long
shots. Each single shot’s time is nearly one and half minute. Godfrey Reggio’s film Visitors was analyzed by
method of mise-en-scene criticism.
