Abstract
En eski sanat ve zanaat dallarından birisi olan kuyumcluk hızla gelişen teknolojiye yenik düşmeyen, önemini ve
otantik yapısını yüksek düzeyde koruyabilme özelliği ile dikkatleri çeker. Zira mücevherin metasal
özelliği, toplumun estetik özelliklerini yansıtan yönü ve içerdikleri zengin ikonografik unsurları ile geçmişten
günümüze günümüzden ise gelecek yüzyıllara değin anlam ve önemini korumaya devam edeceği açıktır.
Toplumların materyal kültür unsurları arasında önemli bir yer tutan takıların yapım ve üretim teknikleri eski
dönemlerin ilkel koşullarındaki ustaların yaratıcı yönlerinin gücnü ve teknik dehalarını ortaya koyar. Nitekim
söz konusu geleneksel teknikler halen geçerliğini tüm sıcaklığı ile korumakta olup, ustanın estetik yaratıcı gücü
ile birleşerek günümüz Türk topluluklarında hayat bulmaya devam etmektedir. Türkmenistan’ın Aşkabat ve
Merv Bölgesine yapılan alan araştırması sonucunda, ilgili literatür taranarak, bölgedeki tanınmış ve itibar gören
zergerlerle görüşmek sureti ile, eski kuyum üretim yöntemleri/metal süsleme teknikleri ve bazı incelikleri
derlenmiştir.
Abstract
Being one of the ancient art and craft branch, jewellery has preserved its authentic structure and importance which draws attention by not getting defeated fast developing technology. Due to the meta properties, the dimension that reflects the aesthetic aspect of the society and due to rich iconographic contents jewellery, from past to present and from present to the future will continue to preserve their significance and prominence. Having a significant place among the material cultural elements of societies, production techniques of jewelleries illustrate the creative aspects and technical skills of masters of ancient times. Thus, these traditional techniques still preserve their validity by coupling together with the aesthetic and creative skills of the master finds life for itself among the present Turkic societies. As a result of a fieldwork conducted in Merv and Ashgabat regions of Turkmenistan, by browsing through related literature and by conducting interviews with the known and respected zergers (jewellery maker) in the region, ancient jewellery production and metal ornamentation techniques and their details have been compiled. Thus, amongst Central Asian Turkic societies, Turkmenistan traditional silver jewellery making tradition being an influential art and craft branch from past to date still is in existence to meet the intensive domestic demand. It is therefore, ornamentation techniques in question still survives in Turkmenistan where owning all of authentic jewellery is still an element of prestige.
