Abstract

Stress fractures around the
osteoarthritic knee in elderly patients are rarely seen and early diagnosis is
difficult. A careful clinical assessment with new radiographs and bone scans
are essential for early diagnosis in patients who have acute, incapacitating
pain around an osteoarthritic knee. We report a 73 years old woman with severe
osteoartritic changes on both knees who was examined for incapacitating tibia
pain. Evaluation revealed no other pathologies other than stress fracture. Bone
scintigraphy emphasized the diagnosis. We treated the patient with non weight
bearing mobilization.

Dizde Osteoartritle Birlikte Stres Kırığı

Abstract

Yaşlı hastalarda osteoartritik diz çevresi
stres kırıkları seyrek görülen ve erken tanı konulması oldukça güç olan
patolojilerdir. Sıklıkla karşılaşılan yanlış tanıdan kaçınmak için dizinde akut
ve kısıtlayıcı ağrı başlayan yaşlı hastalarda dikkatli bir klinik değerlendirmeyle
birlikte, yeni radyografilerin çekilmesi, gerekirse kemik sintigrafisinden
yararlanılması erken tanının konulmasında önemlidir. Her iki dizinde ileri
derecede osteoartritik değişiklikleri olan yetmiş üç yaşında bir kadın hastamızın,
sağ bacaktaki ağrı nedeniyle yapılan muayene ve incelemelerinde başka bir
patoloji bulunamadı. Stres kırığından şüphelenilerek sintigrafi ile tanı
koyduk. Hastayı bastırmadan mobilize ederek tedavi ettik.
