New Approaches in Aviation Management: Sustainable Aviation Fuels Studies

Abstract

Increasing demand for the aviation sector increases its negative environmental impacts. With the increasing fight against climate change, the sector's search for sustainable solutions has come to the fore, and sustainable aviation fuels have gained importance. SAF has also attracted attention in academic circles, and studies in this field have been included in the literature. The study aims to examine and analyze academic studies on SAF. In the study, which conducted bibliometric analysis, data obtained from the Web of Science source with the keyword "sustainable aviation fuels" were examined. The study examined two hundred sixty-one publications covering the period 2011-2025. In the findings, it was seen that the studies in the relevant field increased rapidly after 2020; the journal that gave the most space to publications was Fuel. It was seen that the authors who showed the most interest in the study were P.Dwivedi, M. Garcia-Perez, M. Wolcott, and Z. Yang; the author who received the most citations was M. Garcia-Perez. It was observed that the United States ranked first in terms of the countries of the responsible authors and the number of citations; the most frequently repeated keywords were jet fuels, biomass, and conversion.

Havacılık Yönetiminde Yeni Yaklaşımlar: Sürdürülebilir Havacılık Yakıtları Çalışmaları

Abstract

Havacılık sektörüne artan talep, sektörün olumsuz çevresel etkilerini de artırmaktadır. İklim değişikliğiyle mücadelenin artmasıyla, sektörde sürdürülebilir çözümler arayışları ön plana çıkmış, bu bağlamda sürdürülebilir havacılık yakıtları (SAF) önem kazanmıştır. Sürdürülebilir havacılık yakıtları akademik çevrelerde de dikkat çekmiş, bu alanda çalışmalar literatürde yer almıştır. Çalışmanın amacı, sürdürülebilir havacılık yakıtları ile ilgili akademik çalışmaların ele alınması ve analiz edilmesidir. Bibliyometrik analiz yöntemiyle gerçekleştirilen bu çalışmada Web of Science kaynağından “sustainable aviation fuels” anahtar kelimesiyle elde edilen veriler incelenmiştir. Çalışmada 2011-2025 dönemlerini kapsayan 261 yayın ele alınmıştır. Bulgularda, ilgili alandaki çalışmaların 2020 yılından sonra hızlı şekilde arttığı, çalışma konusu yayınlara en fazla yer veren derginin Fuel dergisi olduğu görülmüştür. Çalışma alanına en fazla ilgi gösteren yazarların P.Dwivedi, M.Garcia-Perez, M.Wolcott ve Z.Yang, en fazla atıf alan yazarın da M.Garcia-Perez olduğu görülmüştür. Sorumlu yazarların bulunduğu ülkeler ve atıf sayıları açısından Amerika Birleşik Devletleri’nin ilk sırayı aldığı, en sık tekrar eden anahtar kelimelerin jet fuels, biomass ve conversion olduğu görülmüştür.
