Abstract
The present article deals with opus tessellatum mosaic pavements decorating the South Baths, the Macellum and the portico along the east of the Late Antique town square also called portico of the South Basilica in Perge. Despite being excavated between 1968 and 1988, a systematic analysis of these pavements has been conducted for the first time in this study 2004-2009 , during which they have been exposed in their entirety.
Abstract
1946-2012 yılları arasında İstanbul Üniversitesi, Klasik Arkeoloji Anabilim Dalı tarafından yürütülmüş olan Perge kazılarında, kentin farklı alanlarında, geniş yüzeyleri kaplayan çok sayıda mozaik döşeme saptanmıştır. Özellikle 1968-1988 yılları arasında ortaya çıkan ve in situ olarak koruna gelmiş olan bu döşemeler, o dönemde geçerli olan yöntemlerle belgelenerek koruma altına alınmış1, ancak yakın zamana kadar sistematik olarak incelenmemiştir2. 2004 yılında başlatılan ve Türkiye genelindeki mozaik döşemelerin ortak bir formatta, yayınlanmasını amaçlayan “Türkiye Mozaikleri Korpusu” projesi kapsamında, Perge’deki döşemeler yeniden ele alınmış ve bir doktora çalışmasına konu olmuştur.
