Year 2025, Volume: 4 Issue: 2, 113 - 119, 28.08.2025

Abstract

Aim
This study aimed to evaluate parental satisfaction regarding prefabricated zirconia crowns applied to primary molar teeth.
Material and Methods
The study included 53 children aged 5-11 years, who received prefabricated zirconia crowns on primary molars at the Department of Pediatric Dentistry, Faculty of Dentistry, Akdeniz University, along with their parents. Parental satisfaction was assessed using a 5-point Likert scale across five parameters: appearance, color, shape, size, and durability. Additionally, the impact of the child's gender on parental satisfaction was examined, and the data were statistically analyzed. The data were analyzed using the SPSS software; in addition to descriptive statistics, Kruskal-Wallis, Mann-Whitney U, and chi-square (χ²) tests were applied (P < 0.05).
Results
All parents rated the durability of prefabricated zirconia crowns as “very satisfied.” Furthermore, 92% were very satisfied with the appearance, 91% with the color, 94.3% with the shape, and 92.4% with the size of the crowns. No statistically significant effect of the child’s gender on parental satisfaction was found (P > 0.05).
Conclusion
Prefabricated zirconia crowns stand out as an aesthetic and durable restorative option that is highly accepted by parents. Consistent with the literature, prefabricated zirconia crowns were found to be highly accepted both aesthetically and functionally. This study demonstrates not only the clinical success of these crowns but also their high level of psychosocial acceptance.

Süt Azı Dişlerine Uygulanan Hazır Zirkonyum Kuronlara Yönelik Ebeveyn Görüşlerinin Değerlendirilmesi

Year 2025, Volume: 4 Issue: 2, 113 - 119, 28.08.2025
