Abstract

Nodular fasciitis also known as nodular fibrositis, subcutaneous fibromatosis, pseudosarcomatous fasciitis, proliferative fasciitis, subcutaneous pseudosarcomatous fibromatosis and infiltrative fasciitis is benign, tumor like lesion which is caused by the proliferation of fibroblasts in the related soft tissue. It is a very rare lesion in the oral and maxillofacial region. We describe a case of nodular fasciitis was seen in the mental region of mandible in the 18 years old young man. It is important to know that the clinical features of the lesion resembels soft tissue sarcomas. Biopsy and histopathological observation could prevent misdiagnosis and invasive surgery

Nodüler Fasitis: Olgu Raporu

Abstract

Nodüler fasitis ya da diğer isimleri ile nodular fibrositis, subcutaneous fibromatosis, pseudosarcomatous fasciitis, proliferative fasciitis, subcutaneous pseudosarcomatous fibromatosis ve infiltrative fasciitis, ağız-yüz bölgesinde nadir görülen fibroblastik proliferasyon sonucu ortaya çıkan, tümör benzeri neoplastik olmayan bir oluşumdur. Vaka raporunda, 18 yaşında erkek bir hastada alt çenede mental bölgede izlenen nodüler fasitis lezyonu sunulmaktadır. Lezyonun önemi, klinik benzerlikleri nedeniyle sarkoma ile karıştırılma olasılığının bulunmasıdır. Doğru histopatolojik inceleme ve tedavi ile agresif cerahiden kaçınılması mümkündür
