Abstract

Amaç: Bu çalışmanın amacı kök kanal tedavisinde kullanılan farklı irrigasyon solüsyonlarının yüzey gerilimi değerlerini karşılaştırmaktır.
Gereç ve Yöntem: %5.25 NaOCl, %9 HEBP, %2 PAA, %17 EDTA, %5.25 NaOCl + %9 HEBP, %5.25 NaOCl + %2 PAA, %5.25 NaOCl + %17 EDTA solüsyonlarının yüzey gerilimi değerleri damla şekli analiz cihazı DSA30 (Kruss, Hamburg, Almanya) ile ölçüldü. Her irrigasyon solüsyonu için 10 ayrı ölçüm yapıldı. Veriler mj/m2 cinsinden kaydedildi.

COMPARISON OF SURFACE TENSIONS OF DIFFERENT IRRIGATION SOLUTIONS USED IN ROOT CANAL TREATMENT

Year 2023, Volume: 12 Issue: 1, 12 - 17, 18.01.2023

Abstract

Background: The aim of this study was to compare the surface tension values of different irrigation solutions used in root canal treatment.
Materials and Methods: Surface tension values of 5.25% NaOCl, 9% HEBP, 2% PAA, 17% EDTA, 5.25% NaOCl + 9% HEBP, 5.25% NaOCl + 2% PAA, 5.25% NaOCl + 17% EDTA solutions were measured with the drop shape analyzer DSA30 (Kruss, Hamburg, Germany). Ten measurements were taken for each irrigation solution. Data were recorded in mj/m2. The mean and standard deviation values of the groups were evaluated statistically by one-way ANOVA and Bonferroni and Tukey Multiple Comparison Tests.
Results: 5.25% NaOCl + 2% PAA solution showed the highest surface tension value, and 9% HEBP solution showed the lowest value. The surface tension of the 5.25% NaOCl + 2% PAA group was statistically higher than the 5.25% NaOCl, 9% HEBP, 2% PAA, 5.25% NaOCl + 9% HEBP groups (p <0.05).
Conclusion: The 9% HEBP solution had the lowest surface tension of any irrigation solutions tested.
