MICRO-TEACHING IN MATERIAL DEVELOPMENT: TEACHER CANDIDATES’ VIEWS ON THE METHOD AND THE FEEDBACK

Abstract

The aim of the current study is to determine the views of the teacher candidates related to the method implemented and the feedback provided in the Instructional Technologies and Material Development course. 20 teacher candidates enrolled in the department of Turkish Teacher Education participated in the study. Focus group interview is used as the data collection technique. The qualitative data obtained is analysed using descriptive analysis technique. As to the findings of the study, participants believed that the group works and micro teaching technique helped them in developing teaching skills and support their creativity. The participants found learning by doing and hands on learning beneficial for developing self confidence. The study also revealed that the teacher candidates perceived instructor feedback more beneficial than peer feedback.

MATERYAL GELİŞTİRMEDE MİKRO-ÖĞRETİM: ÖĞRETMEN ADAYLARININ YÖNTEM VE GERİBİLDİRİMLER ÜZERİNE GÖRÜŞLERİ

Abstract

Bu çalışmada, Öğretim Teknolojileri ve Materyal Tasarımı Dersini alan Türkçe Öğretmenliği Öğrencilerinin dersin yöntemi ve süreçte aldıkları akran ve uzman geribildirimleri ile ilgili görüşleri odak grup görüşmesi kullanılarak belirlenmeye çalışılmıştır. Toplam 20 öğrenci katılımcı grubunu oluşturmuştur. Verilerin analizinde Nitel İçerik Çözümlemesi kullanılmıştır. Araştırma sonuçları, dersin grup çalışmaları yoluyla ve mikroöğretim tekniği kullanılarak gerçekleştirilmesinin: materyal özellikleri bakımından, öğrenci düzeyine ve kazanımlara uygun materyal geliştirmeye yardımcı olduğunu; öğrenme-öğretme süreçleri bakımından yaparak-yaşayarak ve gözlem yoluyla öğrenmeye katkı sağladığını, öğrencilerin yaratıcılıklarını geliştirip, onlara güven kazandırdığını; akran ve uzman geribildirimlerinin materyallerin tasarımında ve uygulanmasındaki yanlış ve eksiklikleri düzeltmeye yardımcı olduğunu; ancak akran geribildirimlerinin çoğu zaman nesnel olmaktan uzak olduğunu; uzman geribildirimlerinin ise materyal ve etkinlik ilişkisini kurmada katkı sunduğunu ortaya koymuştur.
