Yaşlı Bakım Merkezi Yöneticilerinin Tükenmişliğine Etkide Bulunan Faktörlerin İncelenmesi

Year 2019, Issue: 32, 551 - 590, 30.08.2019
https://doi.org/10.14520/adyusbd.544506

Abstract

Investigation of Factors Affecting Burnout of Elderly Care Center Managers

Year 2019, Issue: 32, 551 - 590, 30.08.2019
https://doi.org/10.14520/adyusbd.544506

Abstract

The
aim of this study is to determine the factors affecting the burnout levels of
the managers of the elderly care centers who work in the institutions affiliated
to the Ministry of Family, Labor and Social Services; and the important health
problems affecting the managers depending on the stress and their thoughts on
increasing the quality of the elderly welfare area. An interview form and
Maslach Burnout Inventory (MBI) was applied to a total of 113 managers of
Retirement Homes and Nursing Care Centers for the Elderly in Turkey and 105 of
them are subjected to analysis by accepting valid. Elderly care managers
received: 0.90 points from emotional exhaustion subscale; 1.06 from
depersonalization subscale and 2.96 from personal accomplishment subscale of
MBI. According to this, managers have a low burnout level (p <0.05). The
institutional factors that cause elderly care center managers’ burnout should
be reduced, working conditions should be improved, the opportunity of flexible
time management should be recognized and implemented to protect them from
burnout.
