Bu
araştırmada, bireylerin finansal kararlarına etki eden faktörlerin ortaya
konulması ve bireylerin aldığı kararlar doğrultusunda yaşadıkları finansal
gerginlik tespit edilmek istenmiştir. Ayrıca finansal gerginliğin yaşam
memnuniyetini hangi ölçüde etkilediğinin test edilmesi de amaçlanmıştır. Bu
bağlamda, araştırmanın değişkenlerini ölçmeye yönelik ifadelerden oluşan ve
online ortamda hazırlanan anket formu Aksaray üniversitesinde eğitim gören
öğrencilere mail aracılığı ile dağıtılmış ve 371 gönüllü cevaplayıcı tarafından
doldurulmuştur. Elde edilen sonuçlara göre, hesap kontrolü yapan bireylerin
kendilerini finansal açıdan gergin hissetmediği ve yaşam memnuniyetlerinin
yüksek olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Ayrıca gider yönetiminin finansal gerginlik
üzerinde anlamlı bir etkisi tespit edilmiştir.
