A Research on Philatelic Designs on Palestine: The Case of Turkey

The aim of this study, which focuses on philatelic designs on Palestine, is to evaluate the philatelic designs titled Palestine issued by the Republic of Turkey in 2013 and 2024. The data of this study, which is based on a qualitative research approach, was accessed through document analysis. Descriptive content analysis was used in this study based on a case study. Prior to the study, a literature review was conducted on socio-economic, political, historical and religious issues related to the Palestine issue, which constitutes the focus of the study, and then the philatelic designs with the title Palestine issued by the Republic of Turkey were brought together. The findings of the study consist of 5 commemorative stamps and 2 first day envelopes issued in 2013 and 2024. The designs issued in 2013 under the title Turkey-Palestine Joint Stamps consisted of 1 commemorative block and 1 first day envelope, while the designs issued in 2024 under the title Palestine in My Heart consisted of 1 commemorative stamp, 3 serial numbered commemorative stamps and 1 first day envelope. The portfolio prepared under the title “Palestine in my heart” included all of the published designs and was offered for sale on the same date. While the designs published by Turkey in 2013 emphasized religious and cultural values, the designs published in 2024 reflected the collapses experienced after the war. The wars in the Middle East have affected the understanding of design in many countries of the world. A significant part of the designs created consist of works produced according to the political conjuncture. In this context, it has been concluded that each design published by Turkey in 2024 is extremely valuable in terms of both revealing the attitude taken against oppression and reflecting inhumane practices as they are.

Filistin Konulu Filatelik Tasarımlar Üzerine Bir Araştırma: Türkiye Örneği

Öz

Filistin konulu filatelik tasarımları odağına alan bu çalışmanın amacı Türkiye Cumhuriyeti tarafından 2013 ve 2024 yıllarında yayınlanan Filistin başlıklı filatelik tasarımlar hakkında değerlendirmede bulunulmaktır. Nitel araştırma yaklaşımına göre oluşturulan bu çalışmanın verilerine doküman incelemesi ile erişilmiştir. Durum Çalışması üzerinden oluşturulan bu çalışmada betimsel içerik analizi kullanılmıştır. Çalışma öncesinde araştırmanın odağını oluşturan Filistin meselesi ile ilgili sosyo-ekonomik, politik, tarihî ve dini konularda literatür taraması yapılmış, akabinde Türkiye Cumhuriyeti tarafından yayınlanan Filistin başlıklı filatelik tasarımlar bir araya getirilmiştir. Çalışmanın bulguları 2013 ve 2024 yıllarında tedavüle çıkarılan 5 adet anma pulu ve 2 adet ilk gün zarfından oluşturmaktadır. Türkiye-Filistin Ortak Pul başlığı ile 2013’te tedavüle çıkarılan tasarımlar 1 adet anma bloku ve 1 adet ilk gün zarfından oluşurken Yüreğimde Filistin başlığı ile 2024’te tedavüle çıkarılan tasarımlar 1 adet anma pulu, 3 adet seri numaralı anma pulu ve 1 adet ilk gün zarfından oluşmaktadır. Yüreğimde Filistin başlığı ile hazırlatılan portföyün içerisine de yayınlanan tasarımların tamamı eklenerek aynı tarihte satışa sunulmuştur. Türkiye’nin 2013 yılında yayınladığı tasarımlarda dini ve kültürel değerler ön plana çıkmışken 2024 yılında yayınladığı tasarımlarda, savaş sonrasında yaşanan çöküntüler kompozisyona yansımıştır. Orta Doğu’da yaşanan savaşlar dünyanın birçok ülkesindeki tasarım anlayışını etkilemiştir. Oluşturulan tasarımların önemli bir kısmı ise siyasi konjonktüre göre üretilen eserlerden oluşmaktadır. Bu bağlamda Türkiye’nin 2024 yılında yayınladığı her bir tasarım gerek zulme karşı alınan tavrı ortaya koyması gerekse insanlık dışı uygulamaları olduğu gibi yansıtması açısından son derece kıymetli olduğu sonucuna ulaşılmıştır.
