Kadın Aktivizminin Dönüştürücü Gücü: Ahed Tamimi Örneği

Öz

Bu çalışma, Ahed Tamimi'nin deneyimlerinin Feminist Duruş Noktası Teorisi ve kesişimsellik bağlamında incelenmesi suretiyle, Filistinli genç kadınların direniş süreçlerindeki rolünün açıklanmasını amaçlamaktadır. Niteliksel içerik çözümlemesinden yararlanılarak, Tamimi'nin “They Called Me a Lioness: A Palestinian Girl's Fight for Freedom” (Bana Dişi Aslan Derler: Filistinli Bir Kızın Özgürlük Mücadelesi) adlı anı kitabının metinsel içeriği üzerinden direniş süreçlerindeki; toplumsal cinsiyet dinamikleri, gençlik aktivizmi, aile ve toplum rolleri, beden politikaları ve hapishane deneyimleri konuları tümevarımsal olarak incelenmiştir. Söz konusu metinsel içeriklerin sistematik analizi sonucunda; "baskıya karşı bedensel direniş", "kuşaklararası bilgi aktarımı", "sürekli baskı altında büyümek" ve "sınırların ötesinde umut ve direniş" olmak üzere dört tema ortaya çıkmıştır. Çalışmanın bulguları, Tamimi'nin askeri otoriteye karşı gösterdiği fiziksel ve sözlü direniş sayesinde geleneksel pasif kadın imgesini bertaraf ederek kadınların güçlendirilmesi açısından önemli rol üstlendiğini göstermektedir. Kuşaklararası bilgi aktarımı ve aile üyelerinin direniş süreçlerinde doğrudan yer almaları, kolektif hafızanın canlı tutulması ve direnişin sürekliliğinin sağlanması açısından önem taşımaktadır. Tamimi'nin deneyimleri, baskı ve militarizasyonun gençlerin yaşamları üzerindeki derin etkilerini örneklendirmektedir. Uluslararası dayanışma ve eğitime yapılan vurgu, Filistin direnişinin küresel boyutuna işaret etmekte ve daha umutlu bir gelecek tasavvurunu ortaya koymaktadır. Bu çalışma, genç kadınların toplumsal değişim süreçlerinde, özellikle direniş hareketlerindeki çok boyutlu rollerinin anlaşılmasına katkıda bulunmakta ve benzeri süreçlerin analizinde kesişimselliğin önemini vurgulamaktadır. Bununla birlikte, Filistinli genç kadınların aktivizminin dönüştürücü gücüne dair kapsamlı bir bakış açısı sunulmakta ve baskı bağlamlarında toplumsal cinsiyet, yaş ve ulusal mücadelenin birbiriyle bağlantılı dinamiklerine dair anlayışın genişletilmesi sağlanmaktadır.

The Transformative Power of Women's Activism: The Case of Ahed Tamimi

Öz

This study aims to analyze the experiences of Ahed Tamimi through the lens of feminist standpoint theory and intersectionality in order to highlight the active role of young Palestinian women in resistance processes. Using a qualitative content analysis of Tamimi's memoir “They Called Me a Lioness: A Palestinian Girl's Fight for Freedom,” an inductive analysis of themes including gender dynamics in resistance, youth activism, family and community roles, body politics, and prison experiences was conducted. The analysis identified four key themes: "embodied resistance against oppression," "intergenerational transmission of knowledge," "growing up under continuous oppression," and "hope and resistance across borders." The findings of the study reveal the crucial role of Tamimi's physical and verbal resistance against the military authority in terms of women's empowerment by overcoming the traditional image of a passive woman. The intergenerational transmission of knowledge and the active participation of family members in the resistance keep the collective memory alive and ensure the continuity of the resistance. Furthermore, Tamimi's experiences illustrate the profound impact of oppression and militarization on the lives of the youth. The emphasis on international solidarity and education reflects the global dimension of Palestinian resistance and reveals a vision for a more hopeful future. This study contributes to shedding light on the multidimensional contributions of young women to resistance movements in processes of social change and emphasizes the importance of intersectionality in analyzing such dynamics. It provides a comprehensive insight into the transformative power of young Palestinian women's activism and broadens the understanding of the interconnected dynamics of gender, age, and national struggle in contexts of oppression.
