Deprem Sonrası Afet Hazırlığı: 6 Şubat Türkiye Depremi Deneyimi Hazırlık Durumunu Etkiliyor Mu?

Öz

Bu çalışma, 6 Şubat 2023 tarihinde Türkiye’de meydana gelen depremler sonrasında bir üniversite hastanesine sağlık hizmeti almak için başvuran bireylerin afetlere hazırlık düzeylerini değerlendirmeyi ve bu bireylerin afetle ilişkili deneyimlerinin hazırlık düzeyleri üzerindeki etkisini incelemeyi amaçlamaktadır. Deprem sonrasında yürütülen bu çalışmada, katılımcıların afetlere hazırlık durumlarını değerlendirmek için Afetlere Hazırlık Ölçeği kullanılmış, ayrıca afetle ilişkili deneyimlerini belirlemeye yönelik sorular da dahil edilmiştir. Veriler, ikili analizler ve çoklu doğrusal regresyon modelleri kullanılarak analiz edilmiştir. Çalışmaya 1.291 katılımcı dahil edilmiştir. Eğitim, gelir, binanın yaşı ve oturulan konutun depreme dayanıklılığına göre hazırlık puanlarında anlamlı farklılıklar bulunmuştur (p <0,001). Çoklu doğrusal regresyon analizine göre, daha önce bir afet yaşamış olma (β=0,770), deprem sonrasında psikolojik etkilenme (β=0,630) ve bir yakınını afette kaybetmiş olma (β=1,160) değişkenleri, afetlere hazırlık düzeyini anlamlı şekilde etkilemiştir (p <0,001). Bu çalışma, bireysel afet deneyimlerinin hazırlık düzeyi üzerindeki etkisini ortaya koymakta ve psikolojik etkilenme ile sevilen kişilerin kaybı gibi faktörlerin hazırlık düzeyini artırdığını göstermektedir. Bulgular, afet yönetimi politikalarının geliştirilmesinde deneyime dayalı yaklaşımların önemini vurgulamakta ve literatüre özgün katkılar sunmaktadır.

Disaster Preparedness After the 6th February Earthquake Türkiye: Does The Experience Affect The Preparedness?

This study aims to evaluate the disaster preparedness levels of individuals who sought healthcare at a university hospital following the February 6, 2023 earthquakes in Türkiye and to examine the influence of their disaster-related experiences on these preparedness levels. In this study, conducted after the earthquake, the Disaster Preparedness Scale was used to assess participants' disaster preparedness status, and questions were also included to determine disaster-related experiences. Data was analyzed using bivariate analyses and multiple linear regression models. 1,291 participants were included. Significant differences in preparedness scores were found between education, income, building age, and earthquake resistance of their residence house in terms of scale scores (p < 0.001). Multiple linear regression analysis showed that the variables of having experienced a disaster before (β=0.770), psychological impact after the earthquake (β=0.630), and losing a close relative due to a disaster (β=1.160) significantly affected disaster preparedness (p<0.001). This study reveals the impact of individual disaster experiences on the level of preparedness and shows that factors such as psychological impact and loss of loved ones increase the level of preparedness. The findings emphasize the importance of experience-based approaches in the development of disaster management policies and make original contributions to literature.
