A case of a recurrent iliopsoas abscess caused by a complicatedappendicitis

Year 2014, Volume: 13 Issue: 2, 70 - 72, 01.08.2014

Abstract

A secondary adjacent infectious source in the bowel may cause iliopsoas abscesses. Iliopsoas abscess is a rarely encountered entity with the serious complication of a perforated acute appendicitis. A 76-yearold male with a history of recurrent iliopsoas abscess was admitted to our general surgery unit. He had been treated earlier for recurrent right iliopsoas abscess with a percutaneous catheter and antibiotics in other hospitals (5 times since 2007 at 1-year intervals). With the sixth episode, the abscess was confirmed to be caused by perforated appendicitis during laparotomy. Appendectomy and extensive debridement were performed.

Komplike apandisitin neden olduğu tekrarlayan iliopsoas apse olgusu

Year 2014, Volume: 13 Issue: 2, 70 - 72, 01.08.2014
