Ileoileal intussusception in Meckel's diverticulum in an adult: The importance of ultrasonography in the diagnosis

Öz

Invagination of Meckel's diverticulum is rarely seen in adults. Chronic abdominal pain, lower gastrointestinal bleeding and recurrent obstructive symptoms may lead to a delayed diagnosis. We present here a 22-year-old case with ileoileal invagination of an inverted Meckel's diverticulum, who had long been examined with complaints of abdominal pain, vomiting and weight loss, but was diagnosed late despite advanced analyses. We discuss here the place of ultrasonography for the fast and reliable diagnosis of the disorder.

Bir yetişkinde Meckel divertikülüne bağlı ileoileal invajinasyon: Tanıda ultrasonografinin önemi

Öz

Yetişkinlerde Meckel divertikülüne bağlı invajinasyon nadir görülür. Kronik karın ağrısı, alt gastrointestinal kanamalar, tekrarlayan obstrüktif semptomlar tanının gecikmesine yol açabilir. Biz 22 yaşında karın ağrısı, kusma, kilo kaybı şikayetleri ile uzun süre incelenmiş, fakat ileri incelemelere rağmen tanısının konması gecikmiş bir, inverte Meckel divertikülüne bağlı ileoileal invajinasyon olgusunu sunduk. Ultrasonografinin tanının hızla ve güvenle konmasındaki yerini tartıştık.
