Abstract

Fitobezoarlar sıklıkla midede görülmelerine karşın, ince barsakta da karşımıza çıkarak mekanik obstrüksiyon gibi ciddi komplikasyonlara neden olabilirler. İnce barsak fitobezoarları genel olarak ince barsak obstrüksiyonlarının çok küçük bir kısmından sorumludurlar. Büyük çoğunlukla ülser nedeniyle mide ameliyatı geçirmiş hastalarda karşımıza çıkarlar. Burada uzun zaman önce mide ameliyatı geçirmiş bir hastada fitobezoarın neden olduğu ince barsak obstruksiyonu irdelenmektedir.

Small bowel phytobezoars; (a rare cause of small bowel obstructions): Case report

Abstract

Although phytobezoars are encountered inside the stomach, occasionally they can cause severe complications, such as intestinal obstructions, as they are located in the small bowel. Phytobezoars are responsible for bowel obstruction in a very small portion of obstructed patients. They are frequently associated with past history of stomach surgery due to peptic ulcer. Here we evaluate a patient who had a past history of gastric surgery with small bowel obstruction caused by a phytobezoar.
