Evaluation Process

Article Evaluation Process
Articles are ready for publication in three stages: pre-checking, evaluation and publication. The article publication process takes an average of 75 days in our journal.

Pre-Control Phase
• Spelling Control: Texts are examined in terms of form, spelling rules, and compliance with ISNAD Citation System. Authors of the texts that require correction should make their corrections within the given time.
• Plagiarism/Similarity Check: The manuscripts are examined for plagiarism/similarity via plihal.net software. The plagiarism/similarity rate determined by the Editorial Board is 15%. Manuscripts exceeding this rate are rejected without being included in the referee process.
• Language Control: The abstract is checked for Turkish texts, and the abstract and main text sections are grammatically checked for texts written in other languages.
• Proofreading and Redaction: Without interfering with the content of the text, corrections are made within the knowledge of the author regarding the language and style of the text in order to ensure unity of linguistic expression and spelling. After this stage, no correction is requested from the author, but the text is sent to the author for final reading.
• Internal Review: Studies submitted to the journal are reviewed by two members of the editorial board, taking into account the field. After the review, in line with the recommendations of the editorial board members, the double blind review process of the article can be initiated or the article is returned to the author.

Evaluation Phase (Double Blind Review)
• External Referee Review: The manuscripts whose preliminary control phase is completed are sent to at least two referees who are experts in their fields in line with the double blind review criteria. The referee is requested to state his/her opinion and opinion on the manuscript either on the text or to justify it with an explanation of at least 150 words on the online referee form. If one of the two referees has a negative opinion, the manuscript is sent to a third referee.
• Correction Phase: During the referee evaluation process, if the referees request, text corrections are sent to the author. The author indicates the corrections made in the text in the Author Correction Form. It is important that authors do not exceed the deadlines given for corrections in order for the journal publication process to run smoothly. The manuscripts of authors who do not make their corrections within the specified deadlines will be removed from the evaluation process.
• Decision: Manuscripts can be published with the favourable decision of at least two referees.

NOTE: Book and Symposium Reviews are evaluated by the field editor assigned by the editor.

Publication
• Articles that pass technical, academic and linguistic reviews are examined by the Editorial Board and the final publication status is decided.
• The manuscripts that are decided to be published by the Editorial Board are prepared for publication by typesetting and layout.
• The manuscripts whose layout processes are completed are published in the journal after the final reading process.
