Gifted Individuals’ Visual Capability and Their Awareness
Abstract
To recognize the gifted individuals’ capabilities is at least as crucial as created and suggested environment and conditions for them. Considering the fact that the first institute in Turkey in Visual Arts Education was founded by Istanbul University, Faculty of Hasan Ali Yücel in 2002, it gives us a big clue to work on that issue more .In general, in Turkey Fine Arts High Schools and Faculties, private art intuitions are the main centers. However, the education process should start from the pre-school period by qualified instructors (Davaslıgil, 2012). It is a fact that ability doesn’t depend upon solely the genetic factors but also it is related to the environmental factors. Gifted people therefore, can enhance their perspectives and capabilities (Özsoy, 2003). From this perspective, to become aware of these individuals’ skills and features not only would help them to contribute what they could offer but also would give them great opportunity to contribute for the development of the country
