It is possible for individuals with special needs to survive as an independent individuals in society by meeting the needs of individuals. The needs of individuals with special needs vary according to their characteristics. Considering these differences, it is important to ensure that individuals with special needs keep their lives up to date by keeping their lives in the least restrictive way. The era we are in is the digital age. It is important for individuals to continue their daily lives and to grow as individuals who can use technology. Therefore, the needs of individuals with special needs also vary according to the needs of the age. Adapting the developed technological tools and digital applications to individuals with special needs is an important element for individuals to participate in daily life and to use technology effectively. However, it is possible to say that every new technological tool and the digital content produced does not have features for individuals with special needs. Therefore, in this research, it is aimed to investigate the applications developed for individuals with special needs by scanning the literature. In accordance with this aim, a systematic literature review was conducted in the study. In this study, the articles published in 56 journals which were reached in the category of Education Sciences under ULAKBİM Social and Humanities Database between 2012-2017 were analyzed by content analysis method. In the examination, it was concluded that the applications developed for individuals with special needs are not sufficient and that the researches related to the use of technology in special education is limited and few.

Özel gereksinimi olan bireylerin toplumda bağımsız bir birey olarak yaşamlarını sürdürebilmeleri birtakım ihtiyaçlarının karşılanması ile mümkündür. Özel gereksinimi olan bireylerin ihtiyaçları ise onların özelliklerine göre farklılık göstermektedir. Bu farklılıklar gözetilerek özel gereksinimi olan bireylerin yaşamlarını en az kısıtlayıcı şekilde sürdürerek çağa ayak uydurmalarının sağlanması önemlidir. İçinde bulunduğumuz çağ dijital çağdır. Bireylerin gündelik yaşamlarını devam ettirebilmeleri, teknolojiyi kullanabilen bireyler olarak yetişmeleri önemlidir. Bu nedenle özel gereksinimi olan bireylerin ihtiyaçları da çağın ihtiyaçlarına göre farklılık göstermektedir. Geliştirilen teknolojik araç gereçlerin ve dijital uygulamaların özel gereksinimi olan bireylere uyumlu hale getirilmesi, bireylerin de gündelik hayata katılmalarında, teknolojiyi etkin kullanmalarında önemli bir unsurdur. Fakat her yeni çıkan teknolojik aracın ve üretilen dijital içeriğin özel gereksinimi olan bireylere dönük özelliklerinin bulunmadığını söylemek mümkündür. Bu nedenle bu araştırmada alanyazın taraması yapılarak özel eğitimde teknoloji kullanımı ile ilgili çalışmaların incelenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Bu amaca uygun olarak çalışmada sistematik bir alanyazın taraması yapılmıştır. Çalışmada 2012-2017 yılları arasında ULAKBİM Sosyal ve Beşeri Bilimler Veri Tabanı altında yer alan Eğitim Bilimleri kategorisinde ulaşılan 56 dergide yayımlanan makaleler içerik analizi yöntemi ile incelenmiştir. Yapılan incelemede özel gereksinimi olan bireylere yönelik olarak geliştirilen uygulamaların çok da yeterli olmadığı ve bu konuda yapılan araştırmaların sınırlı ve az sayıda olduğu sonucuna ulaşılmıştır.
