Ozon Tedavisi ve Kanser

Öz

Ozon tedavisi, oksijen salımı yapan maddelerin vücuda verilmesi ile kanda oksijen düzeyini artırarak etki oluşturmayı hedefleyen bir tedavi metodudur. 1800’lü yılların ortalarında keşfedilen ozon; güçlü oksitleme özelliği sayesinde cerrahi aletler, ameliyathaneler ve içme sularının dezenfeksiyonunda başarıyla kullanılmıştır. Daha sonraları, düşük oksijenli ortamda hastalıkların daha fazla geliştiği ve vücutta oksijen seviyesi artırılırsa hastalıklara ve hastalıklı hücrelere karşı etkili olacağı düşüncesiyle insan vücudunda denenmeye başlanmıştır. Kanser hücrelerinin solunum hızının daha düşük olduğunun keşfedilmesiyle de; başta kanser olmak üzere ozon, birçok hastalıkta denenmiştir. Ancak o günden bugüne sağlanan teknik ilerlemelerle, ortamda daha fazla oksijen olsa bile bu durumun, kanser hücrelerinin yok olmasına neden olmadığı gösterilmiştir. Ozon tedavisinin kanser ve diğer hastalıklardaki etkisi üzerine yapılan çalışmalarda, kanser ve diğer hastalıkların tedavisinde etkili olduğuna dair bilimsel kanıtlar elde edilememiştir. Aksine yöntemin potansiyel birçok yan etkisi gösterilmiş, hatta literatürde ölüm vakaları dahi tanımlanmıştır. Uluslar arası saygın dernek ve kuruluşlar da hastalara ozon tedavisi konusunda uyarıda bulunmakta, ozonun kanser tedavisinde etkili olduğuna dair kanıt olmadığını ve zarar verici etkilerinin olabileceğini vurgulamaktadır. Bu noktada, yapılacak çalışmalarla bu tedavinin bilinmeyenleri aydınlatılana kadar; olası yarar, yan etki ve riskleri net olarak ortaya konulana kadar bu yöntemlerden uzak durulması gerekmektedir

ozone Therapy and Cancer

Abstract

Ozone therapy is a method intended to increase the oxygen level in the blood and the delivery of oxygenreleasing substances into the body. Ozone, discovered in the mid-1800s, has been used successfully in the disinfection of surgical instruments, operating rooms and drinking water, by means of its strong oxidization property. Afterwards, it began to be tried in the human body, with the idea that diseases develop more commonly in environments with low oxygen, and that an increased level of oxygen in the body would be effective against diseases and the affected cells. Upon the discovery that cancer cells have a lower respiratory rate, ozone has been tried in many diseases, particularly in cancer. However, with the technical progress since that day, it has been shown that even if more oxygen is available in the environment, it does not cause the elimination of cancer cells. Studies on the effect of ozone therapy on cancer and other diseases have revealed no scientific evidence that it is effective in the treatment of cancer and other diseases. On the contrary, many potential side effects of the method were shown and even deaths were identified in the literature. Respected international associations and organizations warn patients about ozone therapy as well, emphasizing that there is no evidence showing ozone therapy to be effective in cancer treatment, and that it may have harmful effects. At this point, it is better to abstain from this treatment, until the unknowns of this treatment are clarified, and its possible benefits, side effects and risks are clearly revealed.
