Tıp Fakültesi ve Güzel Sanatlar Fakültesi Öğrencilerinin Depresyona Yönelik Tutumları

Öz

Amaç: Sağlık bakım hizmeti sunacak olan tıp öğrencilerinin ruhsal hastalıklara karşı tutumları önemlidir. Çalışmanın amacı, tıp fakültesi öğrencilerinin depresyona karşı stigmatizasyon tutumlarını ve etkileyen faktörleri belirlemektir.Gereç ve Yöntemler: Kesitsel nitelikteki araştırma, Akdeniz Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesinde belirlenen 150 öğrenci ile yürütülmüştür. 150 öğrenci örnekleme giren öğrencilerdir. Kontrol grubu olarak Güzel Sanatlar Fakültesi öğrencileri alınmıştır. Güzel Sanatlar Fakültesi öğrencilerinin kontrol grubu olarak alınmasının nedeni “depresyon yaratıcılıkla ilgilidir” mitidir. PAREM tarafından geliştirilmiş olan anket formu uygulanmıştır. Analizlerde Tıp Fakültesi öğrencileri psikiyatri eğitimi almayanlar grup 1 ve psikiyatri eğitimi alanlar grup 2 olarak ayrılmıştır. Analizlerde ANOVA istatistik yöntemi kullanılmıştır.Bulgular: Psikiyatri eğitimi alan öğrenciler, almayan öğrencilere ve GSF öğrencilerine göre istatistiksel olarak daha anlamlı olarak depresyonu tanımakta ve depresyonlu hastalara yaklaşım ve sosyal ilişki ile ilgili daha olumlu tutumlar göstermektedir.Sağaltım seçeneklerine verilen yanıtlarda, ‘öncelikle doktora başvurmak gerektiğini’ belirtenlerin oranı TF1’de %38.1, TF 2’de %63 ve GSF grubunda %3,6 olarak bulunmuştur. Attitudes of Students from the Faculty of Medicine and the Faculty of Fine Arts Towards Depression

Abstract

Objective: The attitudes of medical students towards mental diseases are important as they will offer healthcare service in the future. The aim of this study was to determine the stigmatization attitudes of medical students towards depression and affecting factors.Material and Methods: This cross-sectional study was carried out with 150 students from the Akdeniz University Faculty of Medicine. These students made up the sample group. Students from the Faculty of Fine Arts made up the control group. The reason that students from the Faculty of Fine Arts was chosen for the control group was the mythos that "depression is related to creativity". The questionnaire prepared by PAREM was used. In the analyses process, medical students were divided into two groups: the ones who did not have psychiatry training Group 1 and the ones who had psychiatry training Group 2 . The ANOVA statistical method was used for the analyses..Results: In comparison with medical students who did not have psychiatry training and students from the Faculty of Fine Arts, medical students who had received psychiatry training were statistically signifi cantly more likely to recognize depression more correctly and exhibited a more positive attitude in their approach to and social relationship with the depressed patients
