İleri Evre Kanser Hastalarının Narkotik Ağrı Kesicilerin Kullanım, Muhafaza ve İmhası Konusunda Tutumlarının Değerlendirilmesi

Öz

Amaç: Narkotik ağrı kesiciler NAK onkoloji pratiğinde giderek artan sıklıkta kullanılmaktadır. Bununla beraber kullanım, muhafaza ve imha konusunda hasta bilgilendirme ve standart yöntemlere olan ihtiyaç artmaktadır. Çalışmada, kanser hastalarının NAK hakkında bilgiye ulaşma, kullanma, muhafaza ve imha etme konusundaki tutumları değerlendirilmiştir. Gereç ve Yöntemler: İleri evre kanser tanısı ile kemoterapi alan, en az 1 NAK kullanan hastalar anket formu ile değerlendirilmiştir. Bulgular: Temmuz- Aralık 2018 tarihleri arasında 76 ileri evre kanser hastası değerlendirildi. Hastaların %59.2’si doktor veya eczacılarının analjezik kullanımı ile ilgili kendilerini az bilgilendirdiğini düşünürken, %22.3’ü yan etki konusunda az bilgilendirildiklerini düşünmektedir. Katılımcıların %77’si analjezik yan etki konusunda bilgilerinin az olduğunu belirtti. Hastaların ancak %7.9’u NAK nasıl imha edeceğini bilmekte ve 5 hasta %6.6 imha konusunda eğitim verildiğini bildirmiştir. Hastaların %26.3’ü NAK’leri herkesin görebileceği bir yerde saklamaktadır. Hastaların %94.7’si ilaçların kötüye kullanılabileceğini bilmektedir. Sonuç: Çalışmada hastaların NAK konusunda bilgilendirilme oranlarının düşük olduğu ve özellikle yan etki, muhafaza ve imha konusunda bilgilerinin yetersiz olduğu bulundu. Bu bilgi doğrultusunda bilgilendirme ve muhafaza/imha hakkında standardize yöntemler geliştirilmelidir

The Attitudes of Cancer Patients towards the Usage, Storage and Disposal of Narcotic Analgesics

Abstract

Objective: Narcotic Opioids NOPs have been increasingly used in oncology practice. We need guidelines and standard methods to improve the patients’ knowledge about the use, storage and disposal of NOPs. The aim of this study was to investigate the attitudes of cancer patients towards the use, storage and disposal of NOPs.Material and Methods: Advanced cancer patients who were under palliative therapy and using at least one NOP were included and evaluated with structured questionnaire.Results: Between July and December 2018, a total of 76 cancer patients were evaluated. The subjects thought that they did not get adequate information about the use 59.2% and side effects 22.3% of the NOP. 77% of them had low levels of information about side effects. Only 7.9% knew how to dispose of the NOP and 6.6% had received training on disposal. 26.3% stored the NOP where everyone could see it. However, 94.7% knew that NOPs could be abused.Conclusion: We showed that cancer patients are not adequately informed and need more education about side effects, storage and disposal of NOPs. We should practice strategies to provide better education and standard methods for storage and disposal
