Eksternal Dakriosistorinostomi Cerrahisine İlişkin Youtube Videolarının Kullanışlılığının Değerlendirilmesi

Abstract

ÖZ Amaç:Bu çalışmanın amacı, eksternal dakriosistorinostomi cerrahisi ile ilgili YouTube videolarının eğitim kalitesini ve bir kaynak olarak kullanışlılığını değerlendirmektir. Gereç ve Yöntemler:Bu çalışma retrospektif, kesitsel ve kayıt tabanlı bir çalışmadır. YouTube video arama moturunun arama tercihlerinde herhangi bir değişiklik yapılmadan ‘external dacryocystorhinostomy’ terimi yazılan ve dahil edilme kriterlerini karşılayan ilk 50 video değerlendirmeye alındı. Eksternal dakriosistorinostomi ameliyatının basamakları puanlanarak(aralık:1-9) literatüre göre standardize edildi. Bu videoların izlenme, beğenme, beğenmeme, yorum sayıları ile ne kadar sürdüğü, ne zamandan itibaren yüklendiği, görüntülenme oranı, video güç endeksi ve etkileşim endeksi hesaplandı. Ayrıca bu videolar DISCERN puanı(aralık:16-75), Global Quality(GQ) puanı(aralık:0-5)ve Journal of the American Medical Association(JAMA) puanı(aralık:0-4) kullanılarak analiz edildi. Bulgular:Değerlendirilen videoların ortalama izlenme sayısı 23.244±44.193, beğenme sayısı 98,1±2,9, beğenmeme sayısı 7,8±19,8, yorum sayısı 24,9±88,6, video süresi 509,2±403,7 saniye, yüklendiğinden itibaren geçen süre 53,5±37,1 ay, görüntüleme oranı 12,7±20,1, video güç endeksi 25,9±97,1 ve etkileşim endeksi 1,9±3,4 olarak hesaplandı. Videoların ortalama cerrahi kalite puanı 6,8±2,7, DISCERN puanı 33,7±8,9 (zayıf kalite), GQ puanı 2,3±0,9(yetersiz kalite)ve JAMA puanı 2,2±0,6 (orta kalite)olarak kaydedildi. Elli videonun 34’ü (% 68) doktorlar tarafından, 5’i (% 10) özel hastane tarafından ve 11’i (% 22) sağlık kanalları tarafından yüklenmiştir. Ayrıca, 50 videonun 38’i (% 76) cerrahi teknik ile ilgiliyken; 12’si (% 24) hastalık hakkında bilgi vermekteydi. Sonuç: YouTube’da eksternal dakriosistorinostomi ile ilgili videoların çoğunluğu cerrahi teknik ile ilgili olup daha çok doktorlartarafından üretilmişlerdir. Videoların cerrahi puanı yüksek olmasına rağmen dünya çapında kullanılan video kalite skorlamalarına göre bir kaynak olarak kalitesi düşüktür.

Evaluation of the Usefulness of Youtube Videos on External Dacriocystorhinostomy Surgery

Abstract

ABSTRACT Objective:The aim of this study was to evaluate the educational quality and usefulness of YouTube videos on external dacryocystorhinostomy surgery as a resource. Material and Methods:This is a retrospective, cross-sectional and record-based study. The first 50 videos with the term 'external dacryocystorhinostomy' and meeting the inclusion criteria were evaluated without any change in the search preferences of YouTube video search engine. The steps of external dacryocystorhinostomy surgery were scored (min-max: 1-9) and standardized according to the literature. The number of views, likes, dislikes, comments, how long these videos lasted, when they were uploaded, view rate, video power index and interaction index were calculated. In addition, these videos were analyzed using DISCERN score (min-max: 16-75), Global Quality (GQ) score (min-max: 0-5) and Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA) score (min-max: 0-4). Results:The mean number of views was 23.244±44.193, likes 98.1±2.9, dislikes 7.8±19.8, comments 24.9±88.6, video duration 509.2±403.7 seconds, time since upload 53.5±37.1 months, view rate 12.7±20.1, video power index 25.9±97.1 and interaction index 1.9±3.4. The mean surgical quality score of the videos was 6.8±2.7, DISCERN score was 33.7±8.9 (poor quality), GQ score was 2.3±0.9 (insufficient quality) and JAMA score was 2.2±0.6 (moderate quality). Of the 50 videos, 34 (68%) were uploaded by physicians, 5 (10%) by private hospitals and 11 (22%) by health channels. In addition, 38 (76%) of the 50 videos were related to surgical technique, while 12 (24%) provided information about the disease. Conclusion: The majority of videos on YouTube about external dacryocystorhinostomy are related to surgical technique and are mostly produced by physicians. Although the surgical score of the videos is high, their quality as a resource is low according to video quality scoring used worldwide.
