Kardiyak Rehabilitasyon Programının Bakım Veren Kişilere Yönelik Faydası

Year 2019, Volume: 5 Issue: 3, 424 - 428, 01.01.2019

Abstract

Bakıcıların %76,9’u ev hanımı ve%61,5’i ilkokul mezunudur. Bakıcıların %66,7’si hastanın eşi, %30,8’i çocuğu ve %2,5’i kardeşidir.

The Benefits of a Cardiac Rehabilitation Program for Caregivers

Year 2019, Volume: 5 Issue: 3, 424 - 428, 01.01.2019

Abstract

Objective: Cardiac rehabilitation is a multidisciplinary program which improves quality of life, and reduces the mortality and morbidity in patients with cardiac diseases. Cardiac diseases result in a serious burden for the patient and caregivers. The aim of this study was to investigate the burden of caregivers of patients with cardiac diseases before and after a cardiac rehabilitation program.Material and Methods: The study group was created from caregivers of patients who were referred to the Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Cardiac Rehabilitation Unit. The Burden Interview was filled by caregivers before and after treatment. After the 6th month, caregivers were contacted by phone and interviewed regarding the program using the 5-level satisfaction scale. Results: This study was completed with 39 caregivers. 84.6% of the patients had myocardial infarction, 7.7% coronary bypass surgery, 5.1% severe hypertension, and 2.6% heart valve replacement. 76.9% of caregivers had graduated from primary school and 61.5% of them were housewives. 66.7% of caregivers were the patient's spouse, 30.8% children and 2.6% siblings. The score of the Burden Interview was 26.23±10.7 before treatment and 21.20±10 after treatment. This reduction was statistically significant p
