Bell Paralizisinde Manyetik Rezonans Görüntülemede Fasiyal Sinir Kontrast Tutulumunun Prognostik Önemi

Year 2019, Volume: 5 Issue: 3, 449 - 452, 01.01.2019

Abstract

Prognostic Significance of Facial Nerve Contrast Enhancement in Magnetic Resonance Imaging in Bellʼs Palsy

Year 2019, Volume: 5 Issue: 3, 449 - 452, 01.01.2019

Abstract

Objective: To investigate the effect of facial nerve contrast enhancement on the prognosis in magnetic resonance imaging MRI in patients with Bell's palsy.Material and Methods: Between January 2015 and January 2017, patients diagnosed with Bell’s palsy in our clinic were assessed retrospectively. MRI scans of 59 patients who met the inclusion criteria were evaluated for facial nerve contrast enhancement. The effect of contrast enhancement on the severity and prognosis was investigated by comparing the initial House-Brackmann HB stages of contrast-enhanced patients and non-involvement patients with 6th month and subsequent HB stages. Results: The mean House-Brackmann stages of the groups with and without contrast enhancement were 3.56 and 2.50, respectively, and the difference was statistically significant p
