Periton Diyalizi Hastalarında Peritoneal Eşitleme Testinin Yıllar İçindeki Değişimi ve Bu Değişime Etki Eden Faktörlerin Belirlenmesi

Year 2020, Volume: 6 Issue: 2, 296 - 303, 01.01.2020

Abstract

Changes in the Peritoneal Equilibration Test Over the Years in Peritoneal Dialysis Patients and Determination of the Factors Affecting this Change

Year 2020, Volume: 6 Issue: 2, 296 - 303, 01.01.2020

Abstract

Objective: This study aimed to evaluate the changes in the peritoneal equilibration test over time and the influencing factors in patients on peritoneal dialysis PD for more than five years.Material and Methods: The study included 21 patients with end-stage renal failure who were followed up at Akdeniz University Faculty of Medicine’s Department of Nephrology and had been treated with peritoneal dialysis for more than 5 years. Initial clinical, demographic and laboratory data of the patients were recorded from the patient files. Patients were grouped as low, low-average, high-average and high permeability according to the results of baseline, 1st year and 5th year PET test D/P creatinine. PASW 18 SPSS / IBM, Chicago, IL, USA was used for the statistical evaluation. Results: Membrane permeabilities were grouped according to the baseline PET and 5th year PET D/P creatinine values at the beginning of PD. The number of patients with low and low-average permeability decreased and the number of patients with high-average and high permeability increased over time. Patients were evaluated in two classes as low and high permeability. The patients in the low permeability group decreased by 43.5% after 5 years, while the patients in the high permeability group increased by 500%. A statistically significant relationship was not found between the other variables and D/P creatinine. Conclusion: As the time elapsed in peritoneal dialysis increased, the number of patients in the high-average and high permeability group also increased. However, this change was not related to any demographic, clinical and laboratory parameters
