Abstract

Seyahat Maliyeti Yöntemi (SMY), rekreasyonel faaliyetler için kullanılan doğal alanların kullanım değerini saptamak üzere geliştirilmiş bir yöntemdir. Yöntemin temel kabulü, bireyin ikamet ettiği yerden bir rekreasyon alanına ulaşım için yapmış olduğu toplam harcamaların, bu çevresel emtia için ödemeye razı olduğu para miktarını yansıttığı varsayımıdır. SMY, bireysel ve bölgesel olmak üzere iki farklı şekilde uygulanabilmektedir. Bu yöntemle elde edilen sonuçlar, yatırım projelerinin fayda- maliyet analizleri kapsamında uygulama olanağı bulmaktadırlar.

The Use of Travel Cost Method in Economic Valuation of Recreation Sites

Abstract

Travel Cost Method (TCM) is widely used in the determination of recreational use values of environmental goods such as natural sites. The basic philosophy of the method is that all expenditures made by an individual to move from his permanent residence to a recreational site represents his willingness to pay for this environmental good. TCM is applied in two different ways as Individual Travel Cost Method (ITCM) and Zonal Travel Cost Method (ZTCM). Results from this economic valuation method are used in the cost-benefit analyses of investment projects.
