Abstract
Dede Korkut stories are the greatest and the most valuable work of turkish national thought and history. Many events and heroic figures of these stories that are not found in the Dresden and Vatican manuscripts of XV century are living in verbal explanations of the history of the Oghuzs living in the Balkan Mountains to the Kazak deserts, Amu Derya to the Caspian Sea. Thus, today Dede Korkut stories continues to perform its existence in Anatolian, Azerbayjan, Kazakh, Karakalpak and especially in Turkmen live environment. Dede Korkut events that have taken place in oral culture with Dresden and Vatican manuscripts have undergone many changes in the last six decades, differences also appeared in the Dede Korkut stories, which is the same with the manuscript written by the Turkmen ashugs. Bamsi Beyrekthe cute hero of the Oghuz, known in various names, Tepegoz- the enemy of Oghuz nation are also investigated. Although orally existing positive heroes as Aslan Bey, who defeated the lion that came out of the reed, Ejder Bey, who killed the dragon damaging cattle, Ighdir, who killed enemy coming to attack, Utamish Han, who defeated the enemy, Kembaghal, who has gainedfame with his valour, Gonur bey, who escaped from the enemy’s prison and negative heroes Tokta khan, Talav khan stealing the bull of Ak Bay and Kara Bay and others are not seen in the Dede Korkut stories, the search for these Oghuzname, which are peculiar to oral tradition, shows that they are shaped on the heroic patterns that exist in the manuscript. Together with Dede Korkut stories, which are not in the Dresden and Vatican manuscripts and another stories were investigated.
