Author Guide

1) In-text citations and References

2) Basic Formatting Rules

  • Submitted manuscripts should cover economics, public finance, political science, public administration, international relations, labor economics and industrial relations, international trade and finance, econometrics, and similar fields; unique, prepared with a method, research, and model that is appropriate with scientific rules. The manuscript should fill a gap in its research field, be unpublished, and be appropriate to the research and publication ethics.
  • There are not any charges and/or fees for authors at any stage of submission and review. Also, there is no payment to the referees and/or authors, such as royalty fees.
  • KOCATEPEİİBF uses the iThenticate plagiarism detection tools for preventing plagiarism and controlling the similarity rate. Authors must also submit the similarity report obtained through plagiarism software such as Turnitin, iThenticate, etc. while submitting their papers. The editorial board will reject the manuscript if the total similarity rate exceeds 20% and the similarity rate for each source exceeds 2%, excluding the bibliography, and matches less than five words.
  • You may reach to the manuscript template for submission via this link.

3) Language of Manuscripts

  • Manuscripts should be written either in Turkish or English.

4) Word Limits

  • The length of the manuscripts must be between 5,000 and 8,000 words, including the abstract, tables, and appendix, but excluding the references.
  • 100-200 words of unstructured abstracts should be inserted into the manuscript. Foreigners who do not speak Turkish may only provide English titles and abstracts, as the Turkish versions will be added by the editors upon acceptance to publication.

5) Review Process

  • The journal uses the double-blind peer review method.
  • Reviewers are assigned among expert researchers in their study fields.
  • The studies submitted to the KOCATEPEİİBF are pre-reviewed by the Managing Editor or Editorial Assistant for the Journal's coverage, plagiarism, similarity rate, and spelling rules. The external review process begins when the managing editor considers the manuscript appropriate for the journal's policy.
  • Reviewer's Invitation is valid for seven days. If the reviewer accepts reviewing the manuscript, the reviewing process will start and is expected to end in 30 days. The Managing Editor can extend this period for 15 more days once.

6) Article Withdrawal

  • The authors can withdraw studies submitted to our journal through the DergiPark system by stating the reason through the system until they are accepted for publication.
  • In accordance with the copyright form signed by the authors and uploaded to the system at the submission stage, the publication rights of the accepted manuscripts belong to our journal. For this reason, it is not possible for authors to withdraw accepted manuscripts before they are published.
  • For published works, authors can send a Withdrawal Notification to the official e-mail address of our journal after the issue is published via the e-mail addresses they declared in their work. In the e-mail titled Withdrawal Notification, a scanned and justified Petition for Withdrawal signed by all authors should be attached in PDF format. In addition, the original version of this petition should be sent to the Journal Editorial Office via mail/cargo at the address below (Address: Afyon Kocatepe Üniversitesi İktisadi ve İdari Bilimler Fakültesi Dekanlığı. Afyon Kocatepe Üniversitesi Ahmet Necdet Sezer Kampüsü. İktisadi ve İdari Bilimler Fakültesi Binası. Gazlıgöl Yolu, Afyonkarahisar/Merkez, Türkiye)
  • After the Withdrawal Notification, the Retraction process is performed through the system for the articles that are deemed appropriate to be withdrawn by the Editorial Board. In this case, the system will automatically add the word withdrawn to the title of the published article and a withdrawn watermark will be added to the full-text file of the article. In the next issue after the issue in which the article was published, a Withdrawal Notice is published, and links to each other are automatically included on both the old article page and the new article page. Social media links are removed from the old page of the retracted article. These links will continue to be displayed on the new page of the retracted article.
