Scale Development About The Effectiveness Of Teaching-Leadership Behaviors Of The Primary School Principals

Abstract

In this study, to determine the effectiveness of the school principals related to being instructional leadership in the process of implementation of the new primary school program, a questionnaire was aimed to be developed on the basis of the primary school teachers’ views. For this, initially the five-scale Likert type questionnaire consisted of 60 negative and positive items that were developed making use of the review of literature and implications held through the interviews realized with the teachers in the primary schools. Later, according to the thoughts of professionals, some of the items were deleted and as a result 49 items were obtained. There were educational districts in the city of Afyonkarahisar, and one school was chosen randomly from each district and the questionnaire was distributed to the teachers working at these schools. As total, 120 subjects replied the questionnaire items. At the end of the statistical analysis, the value of KMO was found as .93; the test of Bartlett was 7133.66 with the .00 significant level and Cronbah alfa was .98.
