The Study of Validity and Reliability of The Scale of Sufficiency Perceptions About Preparation Studies For Reading And Writing of Pre-school Teachers

Abstract

The aim of this research is to develop “The Scale for Determining Preschool Teachers’ Self-Efficacy Perception About Preparation for Reading and Writing Activities” in order to determine teachers’ self-efficacy perception about preparation for reading and writing activities. The sample of the study consisted of 400 teachers working at the preschool educational institutions in the 8 central districts of Ankara. Firstly, explanatory factor analyses and item analyses and then confirmatory factor analyses have been carried out for validity and reliability analyses of the scale. Total variance of the scale was 65.7%. The internal consistency of Cronbach coefficient Alpha used for the validity of the scale was calculated as .89. At the end of the analyses, “The Scale for Determining Preschool Teachers’ Self-Efficacy Perception About Preparation for Reading and Writing Activities” that consists of 33 items was acquired.
