Computer and Internet Usage Attitudes of School Counselors at Guidance and Counseling Service

Abstract

The present study aims to determine computer and internet usage of school counselors for guidance and counseling services. The sample of the study consisted of 75 school counselors who were working in the centre of Eskisehir. The data were collected by computer usage self-confidence questionnaire and computer and internet usage for guidance and counseling services questionnaire developed by researchers. The findings revealed that there are no significant differences about computer usage self-confidence according to seniority and graduation program, and all participants indicated high self-confidence about computer usage. Also school counselors indicated more computer and internet usage for counseling services towards students and administrators/teachers than parents
