Mental Health Services at Schools

Abstract

The professionals who try to basically provide Mental Health Services at school are School Psychological Counselors. Taking the recent developments into consideration, it is also necessary for Psychological Counselling and Guidance Services to provide developmental, remedial and preventive services. In addition to this, paying attention to the ecological approach at schools, the need for Mental Health School Programme has been increasing. School Psychological Counselors play the basic role in the process of preparing, applying, evaluating these programmes and providing cooperation. It is of utmost importance for School Psychological Counselors to be of service to students by evaluating their physical, social, emotional and behavioral needs and developments. Naturally, there are students who have behavioral and emotional problems among these students. Okullarda Ruh Sağlığı Hizmetleri

Abstract

Okullardaki ruh sağlığı hizmetlerini birincil olarak gerçekleştirmeye çalışan profesyoneller okul psikolojik danışmanlarıdır. Son yıllardaki gelişmeler dikkate alındığında, okullardaki psikolojik danışma ve rehberlik servislerinde gelişimsel, çare bulucu ve önleyici hizmetlerin de verilmesi gerekmektedir. Bunun yanı sıra, okullarda ekolojik yaklaşım da göz önünde bulundurularak, okul ruh sağlığı programlarına duyulan ihtiyaç artmaktadır. Bu programların hazırlanma, uygulanma, değerlendirilme ve işbirliği sağlama sürecinde okul psikolojik danışmanlarının temel rolü bulunmaktadır. Okul psikolojik danışmanlarının bütün öğrencilerin fiziksel, sosyal, duygusal ve davranışsal ihtiyaçlarını ve gelişimlerini değerlendirerek hizmet sunmaları önemlidir. Doğal olarak, bu öğrencilerin içinde davranışsal ve duygusal olarak sorun yaşayan öğrenciler de bulunmaktadır. Bu çalışmada, okullardaki ruh sağlığı hizmetlerine, programlarına ve bu hizmetler içinde okul psikolojik danışmanlarının rollerine ve önemine değinilmiştir.
