In this study it is aimed to investigate the literature about the repertoire choice in voice training as part of general music education. This study includes the useful information which may contribute to the students taking education in fine arts high school, in department of music education, in conservatoire and the trainers working in these fields. While voice training is regarded as a critical component of learning process at every level, there are such a few researches on this topic in our country that this study is highly valuable not only in terms of being source of information for following extensively detailed studies but also being a fresh source brought into the literature. Voice training not only means recognizing the anatomic structure forming sound system or processing of structures simultaneously and coherently that play a role in sound creation or using the voice efficiently and correctly or keeping vocal health but it also has a potential to help an individual to gain an ability to make plan and to study systematically and disciplinary. In this study conducted so as to compel the sources and researches related to the period of selecting a repertoire taking part in the national and international voice literature; the general information about repertoire choice and the key points which should be taken into consideration during this period are given to students and trainers.
